Patients that you have created for PureTest can be deleted in the Data Management Portal.
When deleting patients, you can choose to only delete the documents associated with the patients or you can delete their patient files as well as any associated documents.
Deleted patients are stored on the Recycle Bin page in the Data Management Portal for 90 days. Deleted patient files can be viewed but not edited. If the patient was deleted in error or if you need to edit their file, you can restore them from the Recycle Bin page.
| Important: If you choose to only delete a patient’s documents, the documents are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered from the Recycle Bin page. |

To delete a patient
- Log in to the SHOEBOX Data Management Portal.

In the sidebar, hover over the Patients tab and click All Patients.
- Find the patient you want to delete and select the checkbox next to their name. You may need to browse the list, use the search bar, or filter the list to find the patients.

To delete multiple patients, select the checkbox next to each patient’s name you want to delete.

On the right side of the list, click the three-dot icon and select Delete.

In the confirmation popup, choose whether to delete the patient’s file and documents or only their documents.
- Select the checkbox to confirm the deletion and click Delete.
To restore a deleted patient
You can restore patients from the Recycle Bin page.
- Log in to the SHOEBOX Data Management Portal.

In the sidebar, hover over the Patients tab and click Deleted Patients.

On the Recycle Bin page, find the patient you would like to restore.

On the right side of the patient's row, click the three-dot icon and select Restore.
