This issue occurs when a pair of headphones or a microphone cannot be detected on an iPad even after the device is allowed in the iPad’s settings. To resolve the issue, you must reset the iPad’s settings.
To reset the iPad’s settings:
-
On the iPad, navigate to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPad.
-
Tap Reset, then tap Reset All Settings from the options.
- After the reset is complete, plug the device back into the iPad. When connecting headphones to a newer iPad model, an Apple USB-C adapter will be required.
- At the prompt, select the correct option depending on the device being connected. If the wrong device is selected, the device may not perform as expected.
- If connecting headphones, select Headphones or Allow.
-
If connecting a microphone, select Other Device or Allow.
-
Reconnect the iPad to Wi-Fi in Settings > Wi-Fi.
- Launch PureTest and test the device:
- Perform a room scan for a microphone.
- Perform a headphones check for headphones.
